Mothers’ day marked with parade in Bahir Dar

National Mothers day has been celebrated in the region since the begging of January with various activities that help raise the society’s awareness towards the risk of delivering babies at home under the motto ‘a mother should not die at delivery’.

As part of the international celebration mothers day has been marked with parade here in Bahir Dar yesterday accompanied by Amara region police band along the major high ways of the city.

During the event amhra state council deputy speaker, Abebe Arega, said that the aim of the parade is to strengthen the vow that no mother should die at delivery and to further take action towards minimizing the risk.
