Authority undertakes upgrading of over 900 km rural roads

Amhara State Rural Roads Authority announced that it has undertaken upgrading of more than 9000 km rural roads in the fiscal year.
According to Berihun Assega, public relation head with the authority says that they planned to carry out upgrading of about 1,000 km rural roads and succeed in accomplishing around 973 km, which is about 91 percent of the plan.
The upgrading is carried out in Gojjam, Wollo and Debreberhan offices, when compared to the previous year this year’s performance exceeds by 246 km, says Berihun.
The federal roads fund has allocated 42, 422, 600 birr to the project and out of this nearly 18,000,000 birr has been spend in the quarter budget year, Berihun concluded.
