Nineteen workers have died and 25 others injured in an accident occurred at the newly constructed apartments in Bahir Dar University , hospital sources revealed.

According to Andargie Atnafu, Felege Hiwot hospital general manager those day laborers died in the accident are all women.

No sooner did the accident occurred at the university, than Bahir Dar city police department contingents etal municipality ambulances arrived on time and helped the injuries, says eye witnesses.

There were 123 workers on duty when the accident occurred among those 72 suffered heavy and light injuries, police says.

Police says it is investigating the cause of the accident, how ever some observers said that the accident happened due to the shattering of the ladder.
