ETC Improves Rural Connectivity

Every effort is being made to improve rural telecom connectivity, said the Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation (ETC). It established tele-centres in over 10,000 rural kebeles in order to improve rural connectivity, said Abdurahim Mohammed, ETC communication manager. Over 5,000 telephone lines were connected for government and non-government organisations, including private investors and customers, Abdurahim said. The ETC is also erecting microwave stations along 22 highways in different parts of the country, he said.
